Ping G20 Fairway Wood Meets All Your Golf Dream

Do you know what's new from Ping Golf this summer? Of course, it's Ping G20 LINE. Recently they launch its newest fairway woods. As we know, getting the ball airborne and adding yards is what all golfers look for in their fairway wood. Believe me, with the Ping G20, that will be so easy.

Like the driver, the Ping G20 Fairway Wood features a large club face which means golfers still get the benefit of high ball speeds across the entire face – so even when you don't middle it, the results are still solid in terms of distance and direction.

The Ping G20 fairway woods is a little deeper front to back and the face is a little taller than the G15 it replaces, which is a good thing as Ping fairways are generally a little on the shallow side Golf ClubsWe like oversized fairways as we think they are more forgiving, especially off the tee, and the G20 fairways have hit the mark for us here.

PING engineers have used external weighting which positions the centre of gravity low and further back, which makes for a higher trajectory.

A low-deep CG and external weighting produces a high launch and optimal spin for long, straight results. Face height is optimised in the Ping G20 Fairway Wood to offer a visually appealing, forgiving option from the fairway to tee. Golfers have the option of either the higher-launching TFC 169F or the TFC 169F Tour version for a lower trajectory.

Designed to produce longer and straighter shots from tee to gree, external weighting in the Ping G20 Fairway Wood locates the CG low and back to produce high launch and optimal spin for long, straight results.

Main Features:

  • Easily gets the ball airborne and adds yards with a low-deep center of gravity by creating low spin with a much higher launch
  • Perimeter weighting and a slightly larger face raises the moment of inertia, ensuring a stable clubhead and faster ball velocity for maintaining distance
  • With a larger front-to-back and heel-to-toe, the G20 fairway wood sets up neutral at address and rotates square at impact

The sound at impact was more solid than the G15 and the feel and trajectory was very good too. The standard Ping TFC169F shaft was very stable and for those with higher swing speeds, the Tour version with its stiffer tip and lower torque is a great alternative.

In terms of looks, the Ping G20 Fairway Woodbenefits from the familiar crescent alignment aid on the crown and the muscular size of the head certainly looks appealing at address.
