If there is one thing that Phil Mickelson has taught golf fans over the years, it's "expect the unexpected." Shots through trees, flop shots over his back, and green jackets from relatively nowhere, Lefty is a fan favorite because you never really know what you're going to get.
But one thing was a certainty when Mickelson's name came up; the guy could never win a British Open.

There is a ton of golf left, and Darren Clarke continues to put himself in position to make birdies, but if Mickelson could pull this off, it would be one of the most exciting, and unlikely, wins in major championship history.
